ABOUT

Hello, and welcome to the Kerens Secondary Counseling Corner! My name is Robin Williams, and I am the secondary counselor for grades 6-12. I conduct individual, as well as group planning in the areas of educational, career, and personal-social development.  I have a variety of guidance curriculum for students as well as providing responsive services, both prevention, and intervention, to address immediate needs and concerns of our students. Some of the roles I assist in include counseling, consultation, program implementation and management, coordination, and assessment to help students with their successful post-secondary future after high school. This site will be primarily devoted to high school students to assist them with career counseling. If there are other questions or concerns, please feel free to click on the contact tab, and I will be in touch with you as quickly as I can!

GOALS AND PURPOSE

Parson's Theory on Career Choice

Parsons had a theory which if used, can make the job search seem less overwhelming. It states that you should have an understanding of your traits,  interests, and abilities. You should gain knowledge of job requirements. Lastly, you need to understand the relationship between these two things (Parsons, 1989).
